Intensive Seminars in Applied Control Theory are designed to teach the principles of Perceptual Control Theory and how to apply them personally and professionally. These principles include the ideas that people are internally motivated and that all behavior is purposeful.

These four-day, hands-on sessions include connecting activities, small group work, discussion, and practice using role-playing and self-evaluation exercises.

Learning to apply the principles derived from PCT requires time, commitment, and practice. The ACTs build upon one another, providing participants with both analytical as well as practical problem-solving skills.

Take Charge! Workshop: Hilton Head Island

January 20-21, 2012

Take Charge! is a dynamic curriculum for adolescents based on the book In Pursuit of Happiness by E. Perry Good. It focuses on helping kids help themselves. The curriculum's foundation is a scientific theory of behavior known as Perceptual Control Theory.

The Take Charge! curriculum is designed to stand alone or to be a component of the Connected School staff development program. When both staff and students have mastered the concepts of internal motivation and purposeful behavior, the entire school culture begins to change.

The curriculum has been piloted at several schools in North Carolina and South Carolina with impressive results.

New View will offer this workshop in Hilton Head Island, SC on January 20-21, 2012.

For more information and to register, visit http://newviewpublications.com/workshops.

This workshop immediately follows a four-day Intensive Seminar in Applied Control Theory based on A Connected School. This intensive seminar is recommended for anyone considering the Take Charge! curriculum.
