Who We Are

A Connected School was developed by a group of practitioners in the fields of education and psychology who have worked as teachers, administrators, counselors, and therapists over the past three decades in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Many of these practitioners were originally associated with the Institute for Reality Therapy, where they served as senior faculty members from the late 1960s until they formed the International Association for Applied Control Theory (IAACT) in 1997. IAACT maintains a close association with the Control Systems Group (CSG), a non-profit organization formed by William T. Powers and his associates in the early 1980s. The CSG focuses primarily on the science of Perceptual Control Theory, meeting once a year to share research activities and findings.
